Be Still and Know (Ps.46:10)

Be Still and Know (Ps.46:10)

Whilst touring around the Kangaroo Valley on our trip, we viewed from the very old Hampden Bridge, these amazing rocks around a beautiful river.   There was a still depth about the waters...as if they knew not to try to compete with powerful protrusions around them.  Water is soft when it needs to be .... it bides its time...knowing it can change and re-create with its gentle persuasion even the most stubborn of circumstances.

Change of Wind Direction

Change of Wind Direction

After a time of difficult pathways with only a few restful areas, I felt a real rush of a fresh wind blowing.   Young sapling move easily in these winds...they are adaptable, and their branches do not snap under pressure.  We can learn a lot from these examples of nature.   Rigidity and legalism can destroy.  The Spirit of God can move us into New Directions when we are sensitively supple and do not resist His moving

Drawing Life from the Rock

Drawing Life from the Rock

For more than 20 odd years, I have loved rocks, mountains (ah-h- Tibrogargen!!) To see trees flourish and being nurtured in very little top-soil with roots going deep down into rock is something marvellous to ponder. The Rock of my spiritual being that I cling to gives me nourishment in the same way. I hope I portray the power and strength of God's Creation in my works."

Holy Mountain

Holy Mountain

My latest work...returns me once more to the foot of my mountain – in awe of the grandeur and power. Heavenly winds blow on the summit. Can I climb its difficult ways...find the narrow gate through the barrier? Only through the Holiness of His Spirit will I ascend.

Road to Bundanon 2

Road to Bundanon 2

"Whilst visiting Nowra & the Bateman's Bay area, I had the opportunity to drive out to the lovely property of the late artist Arthur Boyd -"Bundanon" situated on the Shoalhaven River. Along the long gravel road into the property these powerful rocks and the tree litter around them immediately made me stop and photograph them. I am drawn to the confusion of leaves, small twigs and stones in these areas and am reminded of how in our journey in life, our climbing and descending etc from one event to another, that we have to traverse areas that will try to trip us up and bruise or prickle us...just the same as these bush litter objects do in the natural."

Waiting Out the Dry

Waiting Out the Dry

All may look dead sometimes...our lives may not be showing any sign of movement or purpose.   But like these dried out trees, we wait...our roots deep down on the Mountain...waiting for the fresh renewing rains to enter our souls...break the drought and once more spring us into new growth.
